Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh, Salam Sejahtera.

It brings me immense pleasure to extend a warm welcome to all students and visitors of the University College MAIWP International (UCMI). As the Deputy Vice Chancellor of this esteemed institution, I am honored to address you and share the remarkable journey that has shaped UCMI into the beacon of learning and innovation that it is today.

Our history is one of dedication, vision, and progress. Brief history of the institution started in 1993 as a Nursing School under Pusat Rawatan Islam Sdn Bhd which is now formerly known as Pusrawi Hospital. The institution’s main function is to train clinical assistants and nursing assistants only. In 2003, the institution was registered as Kolej Kejururawatan Pusrawi and offers only Diploma in Nursing Sciences Course to SPM leaver. In 2010 a new management was appointed to change the whole scenario and direction of the institution. 

The first approach that the new management has taken is to rebrand the whole institution in Oct 2010, with a change of name to Pusrawi International College of Medical Sciences who is also known as PICOMS. Starting with only one program in 2010, now UCMI has offered 32 programmes from Post Basic/Certificate, Diploma, Degree, Master  to PhD levels which are fully recognised by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency and the Ministry of Higher Education.

By referring to the Malaysia Education Blueprint 2015-2025 as the guideline, UCMI are now embarking into a new era of education and exploring the possibility of establishing a Waqf University under the directions of the new Minister. 

We believe by helping the Asnaf in improving their education, they will improve the economy of their family thus improving their way of life and contributing back to the nation. We provide the platform for the nation to invest for their afterlife and thus reduce the financial dependency from the government.

In UCMI we believe by nurturing the holistic elements of our students, we can improve their spiritual and mental ability to transcend beyond the realm of ordinary comprehension through ethical values and sound deportment. A better holistic graduate contributes towards a better nation.

As you embark on your journey at UCMI, I encourage you to seize the opportunities that abound within our campus. Engage with your peers, collaborate with faculty members, and immerse yourselves in the vibrant academic and extracurricular activities that UCMI offers. Our state-of-the-art facilities, research centres, and well-equipped libraries are here to facilitate your quest for knowledge.

UCMI’s journey from its inception through its transformation to the present day has been marked by resilience, growth, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. Together, as a united community, we shall continue to shape the future of education, research, and innovation. I am confident that your time at UCMI will be transformative and inspiring, and I eagerly anticipate the remarkable contributions you will make to our society and the world.
